Dev Sayani Ekadashi, also known as Ashadi Ekadashi or Devshayani Ekadashi, is one of the most sacred Ekadashis in the Hindu calendar. Observed during the Shukla Paksha of Ashadha month, this auspicious day marks the moment when Lord Vishnu enters Yoga Nidra (cosmic sleep) in the Ksheer Sagar for the next four months, known as Chaturmas.
This Ekadashi is extremely important for donation (daan), seva, charity, and Vishnu bhakti, as scriptures state that any virtuous act performed on this day gives akshaya punya (eternal spiritual merit).
Dev Sayani Ekadashi is observed every year on the 11th lunar day (Ekadashi Tithi) of the bright fortnight of Ashadha month (June–July).
🔔 Devotees should always follow local Panchang for exact date and timings.
