Amavasya Donation

What is Amavasya?

Amavasya, also known as the New Moon Day, holds deep spiritual significance in Hinduism. It marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle, symbolizing renewal, introspection, and liberation from negativity. On this day, devotees perform Pitra Tarpan (ancestral offerings) and engage in charity (Daan) to attain blessings, peace, and prosperity.

Significance of Donation on Amavasya

Amavasya is believed to be an auspicious day to offer donations for the welfare of ancestors and to wash away sins (Paap Nivaran). Performing Daan-Punya on this day helps in:

  • Attaining peace for departed souls (Pitra Shanti)
  • Bringing harmony and prosperity to the family
  • Reducing planetary afflictions (Graha Dosh)
  • Spreading compassion and positivity
