What are the Rituals of Mohini Ekadashi?

  • Devotees observe a silent vow or a strict fast on Mohini Ekadashi.
  • On this day, participants are required to wake up early and dress in clean clothes after taking a shower.
  • The rituals for the Mohini Ekadashi fast begin on the evening of Dashami (the tenth day). Observers must consume a single satvik meal before sunset.
  • The fast continues until the Ekadashi tithi concludes. During the observance of Mohini Ekadashi Vrat, participants are prohibited from committing sinful acts and must avoid speaking lies.
  • The fast concludes on the evening of Dwadashi (the twelfth day). All observers are expected to make donations and offer food to Brahmins before breaking their fast.
  • Observers must remain awake throughout the night, dedicating their time to reciting mantras to please Lord Vishnu. Reciting the ‘Vishnu Sahasranama’ is considered highly auspicious.
  • On this day, devotees worship Lord Vishnu with great enthusiasm and devotion. After completing the rituals, they perform an aarti.
  • Performing acts of charity on Mohini Ekadashi is regarded as highly rewarding. Observers should donate food, clothing, and money to the Brahmins.
